The National Postal Museum celebrates the rich history of America's post offices. Explore the links below to discover resources on the Museum's websites:

Portion of Postmaster window   Former Object of the Month: Dillsburg, Pennsylvania, Post Office
This post office was in operation in Dillsburg, Pennsylvania from 1913 to 1971. Like many small town post offices, the Dillsburg, PA, post office was created using modular pieces. This allowed postmasters to buy only the pieces needed and to construct their post office to the needs of their space.

Combination safe door   Former Object of the Month: Antarctic Post Office
Post Office Department’s cancellation specialist, Charles F. Anderson, was sent to run the first US post office in Antarctica. That post office's combination safe, now in the Museum's collection, was marked conspicuously with the site of its use: “US Post Office Little America, South Pole.”
