A horse that has fallen on the horribly muddy White Pass Trail. From Tappan Adney's book, The Klondike Stampede. In 1897, Tappan Adney traveled to the Klondike to cover the events for Harper's Weekly and the London Chronicle. Three years later he published, "The Klondike Stampede," an insightful first-person account of the gold rush. He titled this image of a fallen horse along the White Pass trail "an hourly occurrence."
