The Elite of the Post Office Department

Each Railway Post Office clerk had to pass a yearly exam. Passing the exam required them to sort 600 pieces of mail in an hour with 97% accuracy.

This work was tough! How did the clerks cope? They developed a remarkable camaraderie, helping each other whenever needed. As one retired Railway Post Office clerk put it, “nobody sat down until everyone was finished.”
