PILOT STORIES: Gautier, Robert

Air Mail Service Began: July 13, 1920
Air Mail Service Ended: August 17, 1920
Assignment: College Park, Maryland

A little over a month after signing up to be an airmail pilot, Robert Gautier was killed when he struck a radio mast while practicing landings in the rain. The de Havilland caught fire in the crash, killing Gautier.
