To ensure an optimal visiting experience, the National Postal Museum offers these visitor amenities.

The Franklin Foyer on the lower level of the museum.
  • Information Desk – located in the Historic Lobby, an Information Desk orients visitors and prepares them to get the most out of their visit.
  • Museum Shop – located at the bottom of the escalators on the lower level, find fun museum merchandise.
  • Stamp Store – a USPS stamp store is located inside the Museum Shop. The Stamp Store is closed on Postal holidays
  • Toilets – public restrooms are located near the Ben Franklin statue in the Franklin Foyer on the lower level. Both restrooms have a baby changing table.
  • Mamava® Lactation Pod - the museum has a Mamava Lactation Pod located in the lower level Franklin Foyer. The pod allows our visitors to breastfeed in private.
  • Wheelchairs - wheelchairs are available to use for free on a first-come, first-served basis. To borrow a wheelchair, go to the museum's information desk and request a loaner. The information desk attendant may send you to a Security desk to obtain a wheelchair.
  • Free Wi-Fi - free Wi-Fi access is available in most areas of the museum. Connecting to our Wi–Fi is easy. Just choose si-visitor, open a web browser, and accept the terms of service.
  • Phone Charging - phone charging lockers, free to visitors, are located in the Historic Lobby and the Franklin Foyer.
  • Free Postcards - pick up a free postcard in our Historic Lobby on Level 2.
  • Pictorial Postmarks - commemorate your visit to the National Postal Museum with a special USPS pictorial postmark. If you mail a letter from the Stamp Store located inside the Museum Shop, it will be canceled with a unique pictorial postmark.
  • Storage Lockers - storage lockers are available free to museum visitors. They are located in the Franklin Foyer on the lower level. Lockers measure approximately 10 inches wide x 16 inches deep x 24 inches high (25 cm wide x 40 cm deep x 60 cm high).
  • Penny Press – use the penny smasher machine, located in the lower level Franklin Foyer, to create a unique National Postal Museum souvenir to add to your collection.
  • Change Machine - a change machine will give quarters for a dollar, in the lower level Franklin Foyer.
