Strike
Other
We went on strike in 1970, and I think the strike may have lasted a week, and that was the first and only strike we ever had. That was the first time that we went out on strike so when we got back, instead of waiting 20 years to get to the top level, they reduced it to 8. And they we got higher pay, and more benefits. When I started work at the Post Office in 1969, I started at $2.95 an hour.
