Doug D'Avino

Research Volunteer

Doug D’Avino has been collecting United States stamps since 1958. He specializes in Siderographer and Plate Finisher Initials on Washington Franklins. Mr. D’Avino currently serves as the chairman of the United States Stamp Society Marginal Marketing Committee. He belongs to numerous other organizations, such as American Philatelic Society, the United States Stamps Society, the New Jersey Postal History Society and the American Plate Number Single Society.

Mr. D’Avino’s work has been featured in several different publications, including two chapters of the United States Stamps Society Encyclopedia of United States Stamps and Stamp Collecting and the New Jersey Postal History Society Journal.

Mr. D’Avino graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He went on to earn his Masters degree from the University of Arkansas.
