Most jobs require employees to use tools, materials, and instruments to complete their duties. Postal officials supply their employees with some pieces of essential equipment. The variety of postal jobs and logistics of reaching the largest civilian work force in the U.S. makes equipping the employees a challenging feat. For the workers, issued items can become treasured mementos of their job. For the public, these same tools become emblematic of the postal worker’s service.
