10-cent Society of Philatelic Americans Great Smoky Mountains souvenir sheet

On August 26, 1937, a souvenir sheet was issued to mark the annual convention of the Society of Philatelic Americans, held in Asheville, North Carolina on August 26-28. The imperforate sheet reproduced the 10-cent National Parks stamp of 1934 in blue green color rather than the original gray-black. The stamp shows a scene from Great Smoky Mountains National Park, located near Asheville. The stamp is surrounded by inscriptions giving the date and place of the convention, as well as authorization and production information for the issue.
