A souvenir sheet was issued on May 9, 1936, to mark the Third International Philatelic Exhibition (TIPEX), held in New York, May 9-17, 1936. The imperforate sheet reproduced four recent stamps in original color (all violet), arranged in block format. The issues reproduced are Connecticut Tercentenary, California-Pacific Exposition, Michigan Centenary, and Texas Centennial. The stamps are surrounded with marginal inscriptions indicating dates and place of the exhibition, as well as various production and authorization information for the issue.
