Allied Nations Issue

2-cent Allied Nations single

The Allied Nations issue of January 14, 1943, is a 2-cent red stamp intended as a patriotic regular issue, replacing the 2-cent National Defense stamp of 1940. The design shows a palm branch superimposed on an array of swords, symbolizing victory. The inscription "Nations United for Victory" is prescient of the formation of the United Nations two years later.
