A 3-cent red violet stamp was issued on March 3, 1945, to mark the 100th anniversary of Florida statehood. The central design features a reproduction of the original state seal. The seal includes an outline map of the Florida peninsula, sailing ships in the Gulf of Mexico, and a woman on a wooded shore. The seal is flanked by the gates of St. Augustine on the left and the State Capitol on the right.
