Joe Hautman

Artist Joe Hautman (b. 1956) won the 1992, 2002, 2008, 2012 and 2016 Federal Duck Stamp contests. He earned a doctorate in physics at the University of Minnesota but works as a freelance artist full-time. His work features waterfowl and also a variety of North American and Asian wildlife. He is an active conservationist, having worked with the Fish and Wildlife Service to establish the Joe Hautman Habitat Restoration Project in his native state of Minnesota.
