Hunting Permit Collateral Material

Letter from President Benjamin Harrison

Duck Stamps comprise but one component of the wetlands conservation programs. Hunting permit collateral material includes items that relate to Duck Stamps. These items include applications for hunting licenses, applications for purchasing the stamps themselves, and items related to the legislation or effort to establish the Duck Stamp and conservation programs. A highlight of this category is a letter written by President Benjamin Harrison in 1891 discussing his concern over the excessive killing of migratory wildlife. As the Federal Duck Stamp program continues, it will help reclaim more wetlands. This leaves doors open for further legislation and other initiatives which would add to the richness of this category.
