The 37-cent stamp honoring President Reagan was issued on February 9, 2005, less than a year after the former president’s death.

Among its famous personalities, California also boasts Ronald Reagan, the state’s 33rd governor who went on to become the 40th president of the United States. Though Reagan is best known for his political career, the Illinois native sought out Hollywood stardom as a young man, appearing in 53 films over the course of his movie career. The 37-cent stamp was issued in 2005, less than a year after the former president’s death.
