You can also see a fictionalized version of Simon Wiesenthal in several films available on DVD. Wiesenthal was a character in Frederick Forsyth's 1972 novel The Odessa File, for which Wiesenthal served as a consultant; the actor Shmuel Rodensky played him in the 1974 movie of the book. Laurence Olivier modeled his portrayal of a Nazi hunter in The Boys from Brazil (1978) after Wiesenthal. And in 1989, Wiesenthal's memoir The Murderers Among Us became an HBO movie starring Ben Kingsley.
