New Deal Art: Murals and Sculptures

The Postal Service is the owner and proud guardian of over 1,000 murals and sculptures commissioned by the Treasury Department’s Section of Fine Arts from 1934 to 1943.

Any use of mural images by a commercial entity or by a nonprofit entity for profit-making, commercial purposes requires approval from the USPS Rights and Permissions office.

Please note: in most cases, use of an image found in this virtual exhibition also requires permission of the photographer to whom copyright belongs. As such, the National Postal Museum cannot directly provide digital images of murals.
