Wethersfield, Connecticut, 1778

Wethersfield was a shipbuilding and trading town on the Connecticut River. Early in the war it was designated by British forces as a safe place to quarter prisoners and loyalist refugees. By the end of the war it was used by the Americans to house loyalist prisoners.
