Lubny issued stamps from 1879-1908. The first issue has the town name at the top and hatched corners. This 5k, yellowish-rose, used copy has the delivery number “1197” in manuscript in the center.

Stamps were issued in Arzamas from 1874-1908. The difference between these No. 1 and No. 2 indigo stamps is the omission of small stars in the oval, and the change in denomination from 3k to 5k.

The No. 1 stamp is one of five known copies.
