First Day On the Job
I had showed up thinking that I was going to be a regular, and they had just started the PTF category (Part Time Flexes), so, I was young and I liked to play ball and that kind of thing, but unfortunately I got to work thinking I was going to be there for four hours. Four turned to six, and six turned to ten. That was almost an everyday thing. The first day on the job I actually went through training and failed, and was supposed to have been fired, and that’s one of the first times I came to the union steward. She had to hunt me down because I wasn’t saying anything; I just kept coming to work and she told me if I could pass the test than I could stay at work. So I went down there and I passed the test.
