Harry W. Huking began his career with the Air Mail Service as a pilot, and ended it as a division superintendent. After airmail was turned over to contractors, Huking went on to fly for United Airlines. In 1952, he was called the nation's ranking commercial pilot.
Huking's most spectacular flight was on May 19, 1922, when his engine stopped at 12,000 feet while flying over mountains along his route.
