On June 19, 1924, Myers made a forced landing at 10:30 a.m. in de Havilland airplane #348 during bad weather. He landed in a wheat field near Lakeville, Indiana, damaging a quarter acre of the field's wheat as well as his propeller and both upper wings and under carriage. The ship had to be trucked out to a repair depot.
On January 26 of the next year, he again made a forced landing in de Havilland #366 after the airplane began to experience motor trouble. He landed near Wakarusa, Indiana, on land owned by Joe C. Brown. While inspecting his engine, Myers noted that rubber was lodged in the carburetor jet. Mechanics were sent out from Bryan On January 26 of the next year, he again made was able to takeoff only two hours after landing.
In this forced landing report, pilot Myers explains that due to bad weather, he was unable to leave with his mail the night of February 8, 1926. The mail was put on a train.
