- Collected from White Bear (Apsáalooke) between 1918 and 1922, who said it had been the property of his grandfather Chief Standing Bull, by anthropologist William (Willem) Wildschut (1883-1955); purchased by MAI from William Wildschut in 1922 using funds donated by MAI trustee Harmon W. Hendricks (1846-1928).
