- Collection history unknown; purchased from local residents between 1922 and 1927 by amateur archaeologist Major Otto Holstein (1883-1934, U.S. Army, employed by the Northern Peru Mining and Smelting Company and president of the Trujillo Archaeological Society); purchased by MAI from Major Holstein in 1927 using funds donated by MAI trustee James B. Ford (1844-1928).
