- Collection history unknown; formerly in the collection of Dr. Edward/Eduard Gaffron (1861-1931, a German physician and ophthalmologist who worked in Peru from the 1880s until about 1912 and amassed a huge collection of Peruvian antiquities); purchased by George Heye in 1928 at an auction of Dr. Gaffron's collection held by Andre Portier (1886-1963) and Leon Flagel (b. 1880) at the Hôtel Drouot, in Paris, France.
