- Excavated by archaeologists George F. Will (1884-1955) and Herbert J. Spinden (1879–1967) in 1905 when they were undergraduates at Harvard University; part of the collections of the Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology, Harvard University (Cambridge, Massachusetts) until 1908 when it was acquired by George Heye through an exchange with the Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology.
