- Collection history unknown; formerly in the collection of Captain Ezra Wolcott Kingsbury (1830-1900), who operated a trading post at San Carlos in the later 1860s; given or transferred by Captain Kingsbury to General William Nicholson Grier (1812-1885) at an unknown date; inherited by General Grier's daughter, Anna Grier Campbell (1846-1917) and then by her son Robert C. Campbell (1891-1966); donated to MAI by Robert C. Campbell in 1963 in memory of his grandfather.
