Object Details
- Abstract
- This field journal appears to be a hand written transcription of Mearns's original field notes from his trip from Fort Verde (Camp Verde), Arizona, to the Havasupai Indian Village on Catarach Creek, Arizona, and thence skirting the bluffs of the Colorado River to Peach Springs, thence to Fort Verde by way of Big Chino and Williamson Valleys to Whipple Barracks, and thence to Fort Verde, 4-26 November 1884. Some differences between the original notes and this transcription, however, appear. Collector numbers 3480-3574 for birds are included. Notes on vegetation and on mammals seen are also included. A typed index of species noted in this volume is included.
