Miller, Robert Rush, part 4 : Australian maps, charts, list of expected fishes, collecting outfit, and copies of correspondence

Object Details

Abstract
This binder includes maps and other documents pertaining to Robert R. Miller's field work in Australia in 1948 on the Arnhem Land Expedition. Station numbers are plotted on three of the four maps. M48-6 to M48-34 are plotted on an aeronautical chart of the Gulf of Carpentaria, in the vicinity of Yirrkala [Yirrkala Mission] and Groote Eylandt. M48-35 through M48-40 are plotted in the vicinity of Oenpelli Mission Station [Oenpelli Mission] on an aeronautical chart of Clarence Strait. M-48-33 is plotted on a map of the Northern Territory of Australia, at Millimgimbi Island. The fourth map is a nautical chart of Little Lagoon. The binder also contains documents in preparation for the expedition, including notes, species lists, copies of correspondence, and a collecting outfit requisition with itemized list. The date used in the alternative title, 1926, appears to have been taken from a citation at the top of a page of notes. Related item, Miller, Robert Rush, part 3 : accession 178294, Arnhem Land, 1948, includes Miller's field data records for this expedition.
