Black breton hat with veil
Object Details
- Description
- A black breton hat with a net veil. The exterior of the hat is constructed of black bias-cut velvet. The crown is short and fits closely to the head. The upward facing brim is made of black synthetic satin that covers stiff interfacing. There is a small looped tab at the center back of the brim to conceal a diagonal seam. Nylon net is attached where the upper brim satin interfacing and velvet meet. Decorative small V-shaped details are woven into the net. The hat's interior is made of two layers of buckram and is fully lined with a sheer black polyester organza. A paper covered metal wire is attached along the edge of the brim and sewn with zig zag machine stitching. A black petersham ribbon sweatband is machine stitched at bottom edge. A fabric label is located at interior center back that reads [Mr. Rickie ORIGINAL MADE EXPRESSLY FOR Jelleff’s].
