Photograph of a Laura Cathrell and a group of men and women at a party

Object Details

Description
A silver gelatin print depicting a black-and-white image of Laura Cathrell and a group of five men and two women at a party. They are depicted in two rows, with the top row standing and the bottom kneeling in front. In the top row are two women, including Cathrell, and three men. Cathrell is depicted on the far left. She is wearing a light colored, three-quarter length sleeve blouse, with a long, dark toned skirt. Her hair is pulled back into a low ponytail. Her proper right hand is under the chin of the man kneeling in front of her. On her right, is a man in a dark, thin striped overcoat, white collared shirt, a diamond pattern tie, and a dark Stetson hat. He is holding a cigarette in his proper left hand and wears a comical expression on his face. To his right is a woman standing with her elbows down at her sides and her arms extended outward. She is holding a cigarette in her proper left hand. She is wearing light toned pants and a short sleeve shirt patterned with hearts, spades, diamonds, clubs, jacks, kings and queens. The man behind her is wearing a dark overcoat, white collared shirt, and a black tie. The man one the far right is wearing a light toned overcoat, dark jacket and pants, a white collared shirt, and a dark tie. On the bottom row, the man on the far left is wearing medium toned jacket, white collared shirt, dark tie, and a dark Stetson hat. Cathrell’s hand is under his chin. The man in the center of the bottom row is wearing a medium toned overcoat, black jacket, white collared shirt, and a black tie. Depicted on the far right is Birdie Warfield Edison. She has shoulder length hair and curled bangs. She is wearing a thin striped jacket and a white, button down shirt. In the background are polka dot curtains on the left side of the image and a wooden bureau with a framed mirror on the right. There are no inscriptions on the front or back of the photograph.
