Photographic print of a Bushman Sound System, Notting Hill Carnival, London
Object Details
- Description
- A black and white photograph of a Bushman Sound System at the Notting Hill Carnival, 1989.
- There is a large speakers system in front of a brick wall on the proper left side of the image. It reads [BUSHMAN] across the front. There is a silhouette of Africa on it. There is text which reads [YOHANNES]. There is a man standing to the proper right side of the sound system. He is wearing a black cap, a black and white shirt with a pocket, light colored pants and black shoes. He is leaning on the sound system with his left arm and his right arm is behind his back. There are wires on the ground and a bulletin board behind the man. It is full of fliers and advertisements.
- Each of the images has a white border around it. The borders are thinner on the tops and bottoms and thicker on the sides. The border for 2015.132.161.1 is slightly thinner because the image is slightly larger. The back of 2015.132.161.1 is white. There is an inscription on the bottom, handwritten by Bill Adler. The back of 2015.132.161.2 has two Kodak logos repeated in gold. The logos are in diagonal lines and are upside down.
