- Description
- A black and white photograph of Jackie Robinson on the field as another player slides into base. Robinson is depicted on the proper right side of the image, in full Dodgers uniform, jumping in the air. His upper body is leaning forward with his proper right arm in front and his gloved left arm at his side. His legs are bent as he leaps into the air above another player sliding into the base below him. The other player is also in uniform, with the number “48” on the back of his jersey. He is stretched out in the dirt, with his back towards the camera, his proper right leg bent and resting near the base, and his proper left leg and arm in the air.
- The print has a thin white border. On the verso is a diagonal, slightly faded stamp with twelve lines of text, the top of which reads [ACME NEWSPICTURES / Division of NEA Services, Inc.]. There is an address underneath, followed by [Please Credit “Acme Photo”]. The rest of the text mentions copyright and reproduction information. There are several marks, creases, and areas of discoloration on the photograph.
