- Description
- This is an Alpha Kappa Alpha conference name tag belonging to Etta Moten Barnett. It consists of a paper card with a cardboard backing inside a plastic sleeve. The paper card has dark green text across the top margin that reads “ALPHA KAPPA ALPHA SORORITY, INC. / 57th Central Regional Conference / Madison, Wisconsin April 4-7, 1991 / ALPHA KAPPA ALPHA’S / CREATIVE STRATEGIES FOR ACTION / ADDRESSING THE CRISES OF THE 1990s.” Under this text in the center of the card is black text that reads “ETTA MOTEN BARNETT / THETA OMEGA.” On the proper left side of the card is a hexagonal logo divided into six sections. Each section has a symbol. From the top clockwise the symbols are: a caduceus, a dollar sign, unclear, a painter’s pallet and brush, a globe, unclear. In the center of the hexagon is a section of illegible text. The back of the name tag originally had fasteners for the ends of two strings to hang the tag, but the strings have been removed.
