- This collection contains the Science Research Associates Pictorial Reasoning tests and the accompanying manual. The test is comprised of eighty questions in the style of pen and ink drawings. The test itself is two-hole punched. The test still has the carbon paper intact. The manual describes the test as “a test of general ability that was empirically developed to be used will [sic] all major subcultural groups.” Throughout the 21-page manual, the text attends closely to the way this test will help identify individuals from “subcultural” groups for training and employment. The manual also covers questions of the test’s development, its reliability, its cultural fairness, correlations, how to administer the test, how to score the test, and how to interpret the test (mostly focused on its norms). It includes ten tables with specific data on these topics. The test was written by Robert N. McMurray, a management psychologist, and Phyllis D. Arnold. The collection is contained in a red envelope.
