- Marked: "Wm. J. Murdock, Co. / Chelsea, Mass". A variable condenser enclosed in a bakelite case, 0 - 180o scale on top panel. Knob is attached to the rotor and varies the capacitance. Maximum capacity .001 mfd, air dielectric, 43 plates (21 rotor, 22 stator). Plate separation is 1/32". Unit sold for $4.00. Reference: Murdock Apparatus Catalog no. 15, 1915, pages 11-12.
