- Autograph of Mario Andretti, pasted to cardboard along with a photograph of the racer. The autograph was given to collector Ed Rowlands along with a pair of gloves Andretti wore while winning the 1969 Indianapolis 500.
- Held at the Indianapolis (Indiana) Motor Speedway, the "Indy" 500, first run in 1911, is considered one of the most prestigious events in motorsports. In 1969 Andretti won the race in a (then) record-breaking time of 3:11:14.71. It was the accomplished drivers lone Indianpolis 500 victory. Considered on of the greatest athletes in auto-racing history, Mario Andretti emigrated to the United States from Italy in 1955, becoming a naturalized citizen in 1964. Beginning with stock cars, Andretti competed in myriad types of races throughout his career, including NASCAR, IROC, IndyCar and Formula 1, becoming one of the few drivers to win races in each format. Notable victories include the 1967 Daytona 500 and the 1978 Dutch Grand Prix (part of a campaign where he finished the year as Formula 1’s Champion Driver.)
- Named United States “Driver of the Year” three times, Andretti has been given numerous accolades, including being named “Driver of the (20th) Century” by the Associated Press. He was inducted into the International Motorsports Hall of Fame in 2001.
