- Description
- Felipe Alou was one of many players featured on collectible coins made by Topps and included in packs of baseball cards.
- Alou was an outfielder for many teams throughout his career, including the San Francisco Giants (1958-63,) Atlanta Braves (1964-69,) Oakland Athletics (1970-71,) New York Yankees (1971-73,) Montreal Expos (1973) and Milwaukee Brewers (1974).
- A three-time All-Star, Alou led the league in hits in 1966 and 1968.
- After his retirement, Alou was became Major League Baseball's first Dominican-born manager, leading the Expos from 1992 to 2003 and the Giants from 2003 to 2006, winning the National League Manager of the Year award in 1994.
