- Description
- Bob Friend (b. 1930-2019) was one of many players featured on collectible coins made by Topps and included in packs of baseball cards.
- A right handed pitcher, Bob Friend played Major League Baseball for the Pittsburgh Pirates from 1951-1965, where he was a four-time All-Star. The Major League leader in earned run average (ERA) in 1955 and wins in 1958, Friend won a World Series with Pittsburgh in 1960.
- In 1966 Friend left the PIrates, playing his last season splitting time between both New York clubs, the Yankees and the Mets.
- Friend retired with a lifetime 197-230 Win-Loss Record, with a 3.58 ERA and 1,734 strikeouts.
