- Description
This cornet was made by an unknown maker, in Europe around 1840-1850. This cornet is made of brass with an engraved nickel silver bell garland, and has 3 Stölzel piston valves. The cornet is accessioned with 7 terminal crooks: B-flat, A, A-flat, G, F, E, and E-flat.
Heinrich Stölzel (1777-1844), a German horn player is best known for making some of the earliest valves for brass instruments in 1814.
