- This Larry Jones basketball card is number 203 in a series of 264 that was manufactured by the Topps Company Inc. for the 1972-1973 American Basketball Association season. The front of the card features a posed picture of the Utah Stars guard on a yellow background. The card’s reverse features a small cartoon image illustrating the factoid that “Larry was President of ABA Players Association in 1970-1971,” as well as a short biography and career statistics.
- Larry played his first and last season for the National Basketball Association's Philadelphia 76ers, in 1965 and 1974. Jones also spent two years in the Eastern Basketball League, a minor professional league, in 1966 and 1967. From 1968 to 1973, Jones spent six seasons in the ABA for the Denver Rockets, the Floridians, Utah Stars, and Dallas Chaparrals. He was named an ABA All-Star four times and was three times a member of the All-ABA 1st Team. In the 1968-69 season Jones led the ABA in points per game, total points, and free throws made.
