- Description
- Jim Ryun (b. 1947) wore this jersey while competing on the University of Kansas track and field team. While at Kansas, Ryun set numerous world records, including in the half-mile, mile (1966) and 1,500 (1967). A three-time Olympian (1964,1968,1972,) he won silver medal in the 1500-meter event at the Mexico City games.
- After his athletic career, Ryun was elected to the United States House of Representatives representing Kansas' second Congressional District. A Republican, he held the office from 1996-2007.
