- Description
- Plunger style mayonnaise mixer/maker. Cylindrical glass jar, embossed on front: "WESSON OIL/MAYONNAISE MAKER/MAYONNAISE:/AN EGG, 2 TABLESPOONS/LEMON JUICE OR VINEGAR:/TEASPOON EACH MUSTARD, SALT,/SUGAR; DASH OF PEPPER./BEAT IN THOROUGHLY, AS POURED/FROM CAN, 1 PINT WESSON OIL"; bottom of jar is embossed: "6/L 44" and has white sticker attached with "427" handwritten on it. Mixer is comprised of metal domed piece of circular metal, with diamond pattern cut throughout, attached to thin metal shaft, which protrudes through silver metal cap, convex center, embossed with line design around opening. Shaft is bent into handle at top.
- This mixer was introduced to the marked around 1933 and was sold directly from the Wesson Oil Company via mail. It was sold for 65 cents (including 16 cents for packing and shipping) and came with a recipe folder and a can of Wesson oil.
