- ME-3 (Mississippian Elsey, Variety 3): Found in Christian and Greene counties in MO. This chert is medium textured and light gray to off-white with gray splotches across the field. The gray areas feature a finer texture than do the lighter areas. Patches of chalky tripolized material and spots of limestone are found in the chert. Workability is fair.
