- Glass Buttes Obsidian is a black, brown, green, or mottled black-brown obsidian. The color becomes dull when heat-treated. When weathered it becomes light gray. It has a vitreous texture. Deposits include lava flows.

- Location remarks: Glass Buttes are located immediately south of U.S. Route in Lake County, Oregon
- Archaeology remarks: Used throughout all cultural periods; Glass Buttes because of the abundant amount of obsidian was termed "a busy Indian munitions factory" by H.C. Dake
