- S-1880 (Onondaga Chert): on river N of Millersburg
- Onondaga is also known as Black Rock, Buttermilk Falls, Central Onondaga, Clarence, Coniferous, Diver's Lake, Eastern Onondaga, Edgecliff, Moorehouse, Nedrow, Seneca, Upper Onondaga, and Western Onondaga. It can be gray, mottled gray, black or white. There is generally no color change when heat treated. However, it may turn red, purple or white when treated with extreme heat. It becomes white, pale blue, tan, or brown when weathered. It may have fossiliferous inclusions. It has a coarse to glossy texture. Deposits included bedded tabular and nodular in limestone, glacial, and alluvial gravel deposits.
