- Cast of Monks Mound, Cahokia Mound Group, Madison & St. Clair counties, Illinois. The casts were made by F.W. Putnam of the Peabody Museum and John J.R. Patrick (a Belleville, Ill. area dentist and nationally known amateur archaeologist) in the late 1870s or early 1880s. One cast is of Monks Mound as it appeared then, the second is a proposed reconstruction. The originals are at the Missouri Historical Society in St. Louis, MO. Casts were mentioned in the Cahokia Atlas by Fowler.
