Object Details
- Notes
- Original Catalog Number: 2914-3 Style: Preform Raw Material Source: Ouachita Mountains Luster: Waxy Shape/Form: Ovate Base: Straight Edge Modification: Irregular bifacial retouching Manufacturing Notes: Cortex present on both faces as though this were retouched from a thin slab. Retouch is steep, often abrupt. Edge cross section is wavy. Preform-like. Use Trace: Small curving fracture at tip. Some rounding at tip. Hard to assess use because the piece is not finely made and thinned. Diamond shaped X-section. Comments: Translucent. Lustrous. Could this be heat altered which changes luster and translucence but not color?
