- Collector's notes, written on tag attached to object: Paiwan tribe, Pingtung Hsien, probably from Rikirikisha (village) area, Taiwan (SW Formosa). Headband for a woman. A typical Paiwan group clothing item, which is intended to have a cat's claw rosette pinned to the plain cloth area in front. Probably worn by a chief's wife. Embroidery-like weaving in stylized head design on ramie. Blue muslin..lining...Probably 20th century.
