- FROM THE JEAN CARTER LAVE COLLECTION. PURCHASED FROM A GROUP OF PUKOBYE FROM THE VILLAGE OF RIACHIN, WHO WERE VISITING THE KRIKATI. FEATHERS ARE DAMAGED, ONE IS DETACHED. THE BODY IS A LAGENARIA GOURD WITH A SMALL BALL OF BURITI IS INSIDE. DR. NEWTON NOTES THAT THIS IS THE ONLY FLUTE WITH THIS FEATURE. THERE IS A HOLE IN THE BOTTOM, BUT NO PENDANTS. THE UPPER PENDANTS ARE ANCHORED TH OUGH A TUBULAR WHITE PLASTIC BEAD. THE 6 PENDANTS ARE MADE OF IRREGULARLY SHAPED WHITE GLASS BEADS, AND RED AND BLUE BEADS ON TUCUM, WITH SMALL YELLOW/BLUE MACAW FEATHER AT THE END. PRICE PAID: ABOUT 150 CRS.
